Job Description:
Thrive Therapy is currently hiring an experienced Occupational Therapist, working with the adult population, to join our growing team. We are looking for an Occupational Therapist that is confident and capable of working autonomously, as well as in a team environment.
The successful Occupational Therapist will be hired as a contractor; the position is currently part-time with opportunities to grow into a full-time position, if desired by the successful applicant.
We are looking an Occupational Therapist that is passionate about helping clients experiencing a range of difficulties related to mental, physical, and/or cognitive health. If you thrive in the community environment while supporting a diverse caseload, we are looking for you!
Preference given to those with experience working within mental health.
Salary: $70.00 - $80.00 per hour
Responsibilities:

Assess clients mental, physical, and/or cognitive health in the home, clinic, and/or work environment, through formal and informal evaluation.

Develop and implement individualized programs based on evaluations and re-evaluate progress at regular intervals.

Collaborate with the community partners for program development and implementation, as appropriate.

Work independently and as part of a team to complete assessments, reports, and follow-up visits effectively and in a timely manner.

Participate in case conferences, as needed.

Available referrals could include: mental health assessment and support, ergonomics, home safety, return to work planning, job site visits, cognitive rehabilitation, functional capacity evaluations, wheelchair assessments, physical demands analysis, and more!

Requirements:

Degree in Occupational Therapy, from an accredited University.

Current registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Nova Scotia (COTNS).

Professional liability insurance.

Legal ability to work in Canada.

Criminal background check and vulnerable sector check required.

Drivers licence and access to a reliable vehicle for community visits.
Work Location:

Mixture of community and clinic based work available.
Expected hours: 3 – 35 per week, based on preference; option to grow into a full-time position for interested applicants (however, not required).
Schedule: Monday to Friday; weekend availability based on preference (however, not required).
