Job Description:

Thrive Therapy is currently hiring a Speech and Language Therapist (SLP) to join our growing team. We are looking for an SLP that is confident and capable of working autonomously, as well as in a team environment.

The successful SLP will be hired as a contractor and the caseload will primarily be working with the pediatric and adolescent population (ages 1- 18 years), although experience working with adults is an asset.

 

The position is currently part-time, with an awaiting caseload, with opportunities / expectations to grow into a full-time position, if desired by the successful applicant. The work hours and days are flexible; no evenings or weekends required.

Salary: $70 - $80 per hour

Requirements:

  • Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited University.

  • Registration with the Nova Scotia College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists (NSCASLP).

  • Professional liability insurance.

  • Legal ability to work in Canada.

  • Criminal background check and vulnerable sector check required.

  • A passion for working with clients and families with various needs!

Responsibilities:

  • Assess the strengths and needs of clients referred for SLP, through formal and informal evaluation, as well as consultation with the family and other community partners (as relevant).

  • Develop and implement individualized treatment programs for each client based on evaluations and re-evaluate progress at regular intervals.

  • Collaborate with the client, family, and community partners for program development and implementation.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to complete assessments, reports, and follow-up visits in a timely manner.

  • Participate in joint therapy sessions, as appropriate.

Work Location:

  • A mix of clinic, home, school, and community visits will be available.

  • Therapists have flexibility to accept or decline referrals based on location, interest, availability, etc.

Expected hours: 3 – 30 per week, based on preference; option to grow into a full-time position for interested applicants (however, not required).

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday; weekend availability based on preference (however, not required).
