What Is a Falls Prevention Assessment?
Our comprehensive Falls Prevention Assessment is performed by a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) with expertise in working with seniors and aging adults. The evaluation includes:
-
Identifying physical, behavioural, and environmental factors that increase fall risk in seniors
-
Assessing strength, balance, coordination, and the ability to perform daily activities
-
Reviewing the home for fall hazards such as loose rugs, poor lighting, or unsafe stairways
-
Evaluating the use of mobility aids (like walkers or canes) and recommending adjustments if needed
These assessments are essential for older adults living alone, seniors recovering from surgery, or anyone noticing changes in their mobility, vision, or balance.
